When My heart is Overwhelmed...

Source

Life is unpredictable - full of trials, temptations, and challenges. There are moments in life I find myself overwhelmed. My heart gets overcharged with responsibility in my personal life, home, church, work and ministry. Sometimes I am so emotionally and physically drained that the best thing to do is to sit in silence before God. I find that in the midst of that silence I hear God's voice clearly, sharply and resounding. He reminds me to "Be still, and know that I am God..."-Psalm 46:10.

The one place where I continuously find solace, refuge and a shield is in the word of God. In Psalm 61:2 "From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I." Jesus Christ is the 'Rock' that is being refereed to here. Jesus is a solid Rock that I can lean on, and trust. He is my Rock. He is higher than me in all things so I can depend on Him, and in Him I find truth and peace.

I don't have a perfect life. I don't have it all together, but the grace and peace of God keeps me together and grounded. The word of God is always assuring and comforting. It directs and guides me in the path I ought to go. I cannot do without it. When I sit before God, I have a conversation with Him about what is presently happening in my life. I feel free to share my feelings, thoughts, I even share my tears with Him as well. I am not judged for doing so nor condemned for it. Instead there's a great exchange that occurs - I give God my brokenness, hurts, fears, concerns and He gives me his comfort, peace, guidance and fills my heart with His assuring love that bubbles over.

Hello reader, certainly you become frustrated, hurt and disappointed in life. My question is where do you take the burdens of your heart? Do you know that Jesus cares about the concerns that you have? The Word of God says "casting all your care upon Him; for he careth for you"-1 Peter 5:7. God cares. #TurntoJesus #CryOuttoJesus #JesusLovesYou!
