Revive and Thrive is an upcoming natural hair product line. It was founded by one of my sisters in Christ in an effort to provide a solution for natural hair care management. After watching the company's video highlighting some customers' review of the product, I decided to place an order. I am not one to try out many natural hair products. Over the years, I have come to appreciate what works on my hair and stick to those products and continue to use it. But, I wanted to give Revive and Thrive Shea Lavender Moisturizing Hair Cream Hair a try. Below, I will address some key aspects of my review of the product.
Price: It was $18 for the 8 oz bottle.
Shipping and delivery: from my records, it took about a week to deliver. I actually don't like paying for shipping, but, the shipping price was very impressive - $3.34.
Packaging: item looked exactly as advertised. There were no problems with delivery. I received the product as advertised. There was a brief paper instruction that came along with the product to assist with the use of the product which was nice as it enables the customer to properly utilize the cream for best results.
The appearance of the product: the ingredients in the products is clearly displayed on the bottle. The bottle is of good quality. The pump dispenser was different for me. I am used to purchasing hair products that require me to dip my fingers into it to dispense so this was interesting. However, the pump keeps the product contained. The only thing is that as the product nears completion, you may have to open the container to obtain the rest of the cream.
Ingredients: the product contains natural ingredients such as shea butter, lavender oil, jojoba, and tea tree oil and more. Our hair is natural and so utilizing natural ingredients makes a neat compliment.
Smell: the scent of the product is mild and not overpowering - it smells like a mixture of shea butter, and mint which I appreciated.
Texture: the product is of a milky and creamy consistency. It is as well light and fluffy. When I first received the product, I applied a little bit onto my fingers and initially thought that it would be too oily for my hair. I decided to smear that amount unto the back of my hand and the product completely absorbed into my skin without an oily residue - I was quite impressed! It is not at all oily, but it does contain the proper amount of oil to nourish the hair.
Effect on my hair: the product was very moisturizing to my hair. It coated my hair and provided deep moisture that lasted for well over a week! It also made my hair feel very soft after unraveling my twists. It provided my hair with a moderate sheen. It also gave me definition when I unraveled my twists. I must mention that I only used the product on the small left portion of my hair as seen in the pictures displayed. I used a different product for the rest of my hair. In comparison with the other product used on the majority of my hair, the section of hair where Revive and Thrive Shea Lavender Moisturizing Hair Cream was applied to, was so much smoother and moisturized to touch.
Conclusion: overall, I personally would have liked the cream a bit thicker like a butter consistency - my hair appreciates thicker creams. I think I got about 4-5 uses out of the cream, I still have a little bit left. Because the cream is of a lighter consistency than my hair is used to, I had to use a little more product for my thick hair. I also would have appreciated more product. As earlier mentioned, I was able to get about 4x use for my entire head of hair. Nonetheless, Revive and Thrive Shea Lavender Moisturizing Hair Cream is a great product. I was pleased with its moisturizing and softening properties.
