VIRTUOUS YOUNG BRIDES: Temple Building Series

✨Happy Tuesday VYB!๐Ÿ˜ƒ

We are continuing with our “Temple Building” Series. In previous weeks, we have addressed our spiritual, mental and emotional health. This week, we are discussing the topic “Physical Health.”

This section will be divided into three parts.

  • Upkeep: medical check and hygiene
  • Diet and exercise
  • Sexual purity

Today, we will be discussing the first part of upkeep which is medical checks.

➡️A yearly physical is a comprehensive medical health screening that helps to detect health problems and assesses your level of health. A yearly physical requires visiting a health care center for a thorough physical exam. During the exam your vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature and oxygen level will be obtained to detect abnormalities.

Your blood will also be drawn to check your internal health related to your heart function, cholesterol levels etc. A urine sample will be obtained from you to check your kidney function etc. A yearly physical is a must. It is a simple way to check your health status and get connected to health resources that will improve your overall health. In addition to a yearly physical, it is important to establish a relationship with a general practitioner so as to ensure continuity of care.

➡️Also as ladies, our reproductive health is very important; hence we need specialize care. A Pap smear is a procedure conducted by an OBGYN of the cervix ; cells are obtained and taken to the laboratory to detect abnormalities. A pap smears is a great way to ensure our reproductive system is healthy and thriving. Below is a chart from https://www.healthline.com (please scroll down to view) for recommendations for Pap smear for women.

➡️Let’s have a discussion!

➡️QUESTIONS OF THE DAY:

1️⃣ Have you had your yearly physical this year 2021?

2️⃣ Do you have a general practitioner who oversees your health?

3️⃣ Have you visited the OBGYN this year if recommended per the chart above?

I look forward to reading to your responses.
